Coffee is just en exscuse
Vittorio's is an Italian Style Coffee House.
Its existence stems from desire of owner Vittorio, to make the Bel Paese known. And the Bel Paese is what Italians call Italy.
Vittorio, was born and raised in Italy, but has always had a great passion for the United Kingdom. In fact, his father lived as a young man in London and transferred to him, his love for Great Britain.
After practising law for 10 years in Italy , Vittorio decided to move to Cornwall to fully experience British life.
It was March 2016 and, thanks mainly to the help of Mark, his half-brother, he was able to become a part of the local community where he worked in a cafe, as a lifeguard and at the local airport.
Vittorio’s family, especially his dad, Gianfranco, has always been involved in the Italian hospitality business. The creation of ‘Vittorio’s the Italian Coffee House, in Wadebridge, combines all that Vittorio knows from his youth, with the elements of community, education and fun. Coffee is a universally recognised Italian quality product and Vittorio's offers this and much much more. In fact, Vittorio came up with the strap line, ‘coffee is just an excuse’.
An excuse for what? To educate, to entertain, to transmit culture, to give people new flavours, tastes and culture throughout the day and into the evening. All while having fun. It is very different to the usual cafes around. The aim is to bring Italy to Cornwall.
In January 2018, Vittorio met swimming coach and artist, Helen. She owned a restaurant in 2004, and whilst chatting to Vittorio, it transpired that they both had ideas about running a cafe. Although it wasn’t until Vittorio showed her the ‘real’ Italy, complete with strong family values and amazing local food, that Vittorio's was born. An authentic Italian Coffee House for the community to enjoy, and give them the opportunity to learn about Italy - the Bel Paese.
So.... not just coffee, good food and excellent wines, but also lots of fun and culture. Music will be one of the cardinal points of Vittorio's. Music is written in Italian and Italy is home to many classical artists. Lots of music including classical, operatic, folk and Italian film scores.
Now a little bit of the Bel Paese is in Cornwall.
